Two weeks ago I decided I wasn’t ready to move on to week 3 of the one hundred push ups challenge and instead started the challenge over. This time I used the highest level of push ups in the chart instead of the lowest level.

It was a good decision.

Yesterday I completed week two with a ladder of 15/15/12/12/20 for a total of 74 push ups. I had to rest more than two minutes before I did the last step but otherwise not a problem. My form on the last couple of push ups was pretty ugly, but I got it done. In contrast, two weeks ago I barely completed 44 push ups with a note that says “Hard!”

My arms and shoulders ache for a while after the work out. There’s still a lot of push ups ahead of me and the numbers really add up starting next week. On Saturday, I’ll retest and see how much progress I’ve made since my last test.
