I’m having an organization day. This happens like clockwork during the last week of the year, much like deciding to diet after the first of the year. It’s a compulsion I don’t try to fight anymore, just give in and get it done.
It started with trying to find some size 3 double points and progressed to sorting through all the DPNs, reassigning them to their own tubes by size, moving on to the detritus of patterns and magazines cluttering the coffee table and then hauling out the big guns. All the totes and baskets lurking in the cave behind the sofa got dumped out in the middle of the floor to see what projects were hiding there. There were a few I’d forgotten about along with some yarn I don’t even remember buying.
At least two projects are close to being finished, a baby sweater and a sweater for me. Even though I’m itching to start new projects I’m going to force myself to finish these first. Gotta make room in the baskets. Unfortunately there weren’t any projects that I hate, so nothing to frog.
I haven’t tackled the tangle of circular needles, that’s a project for another day. I’ve finally reached capacity in the two needle bags I use and must make a decision about where to store sizes I don’t use much.
The museum sweater is done except for washing and buttons. Talk about timing: baby Levi Hunter arrived today about the time I was darning in the ends.
Off to sort through more piles of yarn.

Organizing yarn is fun, as long as you enjoy the yarn. Have fun!
