Lazy Sunday

yawn. It’s dull brown and cold here and we’re having a kick-back day. We got up late and made the unusual decision to go out for breakfast across town. If we venture out on a Sunday it’s usually for a quick breakfast at a local eatery. But since neither of us had much on our agenda today we decided to break up the routine a little.

On the way home we stopped at Borders to pick up the Sunday NY Times. And that’s our Sunday. The rest of our day has been spent devouring it, front to back in Jack’s case, back to front for me. Works out well, no?

There might have been a nap in there for a minute or two, when the paper got a little heavy and the eyelids shut of their own accord, but we’re not admitting it.

Jack’s still at it, but I gave up about an hour ago to turn on the computer and see what’s happening in the virtual world.

Tomorrow I teach the second knitting class for my 5-year-old and her mum and friend. We were delayed for a couple weeks because of illness so it will be interesting to see if the first lesson stuck at all. More job searching, car maintenance and perhaps a meeting or two will round out the week.

Now it’s time to go throw dinner on the table and I’m torn between pulling mixed bean and ham soup out of the freezer or actually cooking. Because of a mixup in service at the restaurant we came home with 4 free gargantuan muffins as a mea culpa. One of those could be dinner with soup and salad. Yeah, I think that’s the way to go. Lazy right to the end.

I hope your Sunday was as relaxing. It’s good for the soul once in a while.

I will be interested to hear how the knitting class went. Does a 5-yo have the dexterity to learn to knit?
