Lookee, lookee what arrived in the mail this week! My very own audio book of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I won it in a drawing that Gale at She Shoots Sheep Shots was holding on her blog.
If you don’t “know” Gale, you should, she’s a great photographer and she also teaches a class on photographing your knitting that I’d like to take some day (which would have helped with this photo too but allowances must be made for short days and long work schedules).
I’m a big HP fan so this is a Big Deal for me. Thanks so much Gale.
Gale is also a big supporter of the Red Scarf project to provide 3000 handknit red scarves to include in care packages to college bound foster youths. If you haven’t already knit a scarf you have until December 15 to make a difference. The link above has all the details you need.
And! And! If like me your knitting time is limited but you’d still like to help, you can donate $$ to help these young students with unexpected expenses, as Cookie so gently corrected me (comes from blogging too early in the morning), not to offset the cost of shipping. Just because she’s made that way, Norma of Now Norma Knits is offering a chance to win prizes for every $5 you donate. You can get the full details and donate at her Red Scarf Blog and um, I just might have to donate again, the prizes keep getting better and better.
And now I’m late but I didn’t want another day to go by without thanking Gale and spreading the word about the good deeds going on in blog land. Knitters are a good bunch.

Woohoo for Harry Potter! Lucky you!
Congrats!
For the record, the funds donated to the Red Scarf Fund actually go to helping support those wonderful people with unexpected expenses. Musical instrument repair, eyeglasses, that sort of thing. The shipping, I believe, is donated. I want to say FedEx, but I could be wrong. It’s still early here.
Thanks for the shout out Diane, and esp for the Red Scarf support!! Enjoy HP.
