We have sunshine today and no snow except a few grimy snow banks here and there. Snow flurries are predicted for Christmas Eve and since we’re not traveling I’ll be happy to see it. But when it’s done snowing, give me back the sunshine.
Today is Christmas card writing, package wrapping and napping day. For some reason, I’m tired even though I got my normal 7 hours last night. I’m guessing it’s just catch up from the past week.

My temp job ended Friday. As temp jobs go, the pay was fine; but the boredom was deadly. Jack’s iPod kept me awake more than one day, but I need to load better music on there; Anita O’Day doesn’t exactly rock the house. (My iPod kicked the bucket this fall and hasn’t been replaced.) The company stuck us in a cubicle wasteland next to a main corridor, gave us directions and pretty much left us alone. There were a few days where we didn’t talk to anybody but the 4 of us. Imagine months of that. Gives me job hunting incentive big time.

Went crazy looking for Gus this morning. When he spends the night outside he’s always home by daybreak but this morning he was AWOL. I thought I had let him in at 3 am, but couldn’t be sure. After a couple hours of shouting out the side door for him, I got smart and opened the front door. He had got locked in the entryway when Jack went out for the newspaper at 4 am. I’ve been making amends all day.

I do believe it’s warm enough to cook on the grill tonight, if I don’t wait too late. It looks like Sunday supper might be hamburgers and oven fries. A little salad on the side and Christmas cookies for dessert; what could be easier?
What’s on your plate?

I love that you “thought I had let him in at 3 am, but couldn’t be sure.” It’s hard to remember in the morning what we did in our sleep…
You are totally wrong about Anita O’Day. If you think she doesn’t rock the house, then you haven’t heard very much of her music. She Totally rocks swings and is wayyyyy cool. http://Www.anitaodaydoc.com
Good luck with the next position! Hurray for finding Gus. I’ve gotten to the point where our felines are not allow out after 8 pm or so. Too much worry for me when they’re out late.
Mmmm. Your supper sounds great.
Poor baby! Hope the next position isn’t as boring. My future MIL is in an insurance call center. She’s bored out of her mind, but I told her she should learn to knit as other people do stuff like that and cross stitch while taking endless calls.
ah, I could use a day like you had yesterday! Especially the nap part!
Isn’t that your Jack’s fault? Why is Gus blaming you?
Warm enough to grill? *sigh* It’s been below zero here for days, with and without wind chill… (And I’m not talking Celsius.)

Can’t imagine a part where it could be that warm! Can’t open the deck door currently because of all the snow.
Love Santa.
